SEEING THINGS by Jeff Rosen
May 1 - May 20
Free
Canadian artist Jeff Rosen’s explosive free-associative style and category-defying paintings capture impressions of dream states and meditations – revealing faces, figures, animals, totems, metaphysical landscapes, and non-existent entities.
He is galleried in Toronto, Ottawa, and Halifax, and his works are included in galleries and private collections in Canada, Germany, and the USA.
Recently, two major works have been acquired by the government of Canada as part of their permanent Global Affairs Visual Arts Collection, (VAC) one of Canada’s most prestigious national collections.
When not painting, Jeff creates, writes, and produces award-winning children’s television series like Bo on the Go, Poko, Animal Mechanicals, The Mighty Jungle, Pirates!, Monster Math Squad, and Space Ranger Roger. One of our country’s most prolific and syndicated showrunners and creators, he was the principal writer of the iconic Theodore Tugboat. Jeff was a founding creative partner of DHX Media (now Wildbrain) a global content company, home to Peanuts, Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake, Caillou, Inspector Gadget, and Degrassi.
Jeff lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia
