Nicole Allen | From the ground up

Wall Space Gallery is proud to present From the Ground Up by Ottawa artist Nicole Allen. This exhibition reflects both a physical and emotional journey toward renewal and serves as a meditation on growth, resilience, and the transformative power of starting anew. Through her richly layered florals and botanical imagery, Allen explores the delicate interplay between vulnerability and strength, much like blossoms reaching toward the light after a long winter.
Born in Oakville, Ontario, Allen developed an early appreciation for painting the Canadian landscape through her father. The artist holds an undergraduate degree in Art History from Queen’s University, and an honours diploma in Applied Museum Studies from Algonquin College. Over the years, Allen has consistently developed her painting and figurative skills through her studies at the Ottawa School of Art and local art groups. Since beginning to exhibit her work in 2010, Allen has shown throughout the Ottawa region and now paints full-time from her studio as a member of the Loft Artists Collective. Her work is held in private collections across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
