SUMMARY:Intertwined
DESCRIPTION:n a time marked by our increasingly complex relationship to the natural world\, Intertwined brings together artists for whom this tension is at the heart of their exploration. Probing themes of identity\, environmentalism\, displacement and the human body\, this exhibition invites us to reflect and reconsider our place within nature and our role in its becoming.  \nHuman connection to nature is a driving force in Adrian Baker’s work. Rooted in ecofeminism\, her work stems from the belief that what affects nature will also affect us. Canadian Shield is a visual reflection of our impact on our environment. Similarly\, habitat loss\, fragility\, and impermanence are at the center of Juliana McDonald’s practice. The monoprint series Come Walk With Me\, featuring leaves and grasses she collects near her home\, highlights nature’s constant evolution\, driven and threatened by human action. Tiffany April’s work brings into question the hierarchy between human and non-human beings. Portraying the intelligence of fire\, her pieces explore nature’s ability to grow and balance itself in response to human action. Saanya Chopra’s practice explores identity and displacement through the lens of both deconstruction and renewal. As a second generation Canadian\, her work questions our relationship to our body and environment in the context of cultural identity. Always inspired by the landscapes of the boreal ecozone\, Wendy Feldberg’s work focuses on plants native to both her garden and local environments. She uses pigments from plants and soil applied directly onto natural fibers to create unique monotypes in a process known as Eco-printing. Through layering and composition\, Linh VH Nguyen uses organic matter to explore memory\, identity\, and emotion in relation to the body. Her work repurposes dried weeds and floral debris to question our perception of beauty.   \nBy merging visual storytelling and media-based experimentation\, Intertwined explores each artist’s connection to the natural world and incites us to reflect on how we both feel connection and distance towards our environment.   \nArtists: Tiffany April\, Siobhan Arnott\, Adrian Baker\, Saanya Chopra\, Pat Durr\, Wendy Feldberg\, Sylvie Grenier\, Michael Harrington\, Susan Hodgson\, Whitney Lewis-Smith\, Juliana McDonald\, Judi Miller\, Linh VH Nguyen\, Patti Normand\, Cheryl Pagurek\, Pierre Racine\, Valerie Ryan\, Sharon VanStarkenburg  \nExhibition Coordinator: Élie Crighton\nAssistance: Kelly Dixon\nInstallation: Dan Austin and Rob Keefe

SUMMARY:Jane Languedoc - Solo Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Jane Languedoc was born in Ottawa\, and living on the edge of the Canadian Shield\, the landscapes that surrounded her inspired her deep love of trees\, rocks and lakes.  She moved to London\, England in 1976 and was exposed to an entirely different life. Her frequent visits to the National Gallery gave her a love of impressionism and she took many summer trips to Wales and saw a very different landscape and learned to love the ocean and cliffs of Pembrokeshire. She longed for the fresh air and cool lakes of home and returned to Canada in 1980. \nJane has learnt from local professional artists\, such as Adrian Baker\, and many online programs such as Will Kemp art and Acrylic University. She loves bright colours and uses them to portray emotions. She feels that each season has a unique mood and paints each season as it occurs. She has traveled all over the US \,Canada and Europe and been moved by the wonderful variety that nature creates with light\, weather and flora. The awe of our wonderful planet is a never ending inspiration.

SUMMARY:État Plasma

SUMMARY:"Childhood Light” by Julie Denoncourt
DESCRIPTION:Galerie Old Chelsea is proud to present a powerful solo exhibition by Julie Denoncourt which explores the first gestures of existence and the luminous fragility of childhood entering the world. \nAt the heart of the exhibition is the image of the newborn supported by adult hands — a profound point of origin where vulnerability meets the strength of being received. Through deeply evocative paintings\, the artist captures the emotional weight and quiet intensity of these foundational moments\, inviting viewers into a space of reflection\, tenderness\, and recognition. \nExecuted with remarkable mastery through realism\, the works combine powerful imagery with striking compositions that emphasize both intimacy and universality. Light becomes an essential presence throughout the exhibition\, illuminating the sincerity of early impulses and the silent beauty embedded within beginnings. \nRather than narrating childhood\, Childhood Light allows it to manifest organically — to breathe\, emerge\, and take root through gesture\, expression\, and atmosphere. Each painting becomes a meditation on care\, connection\, and the profound humanity found in life’s earliest moments. \n“Through my paintings\, I seek to reveal the power of simple gestures\, the sincerity of early impulses\, and the light that shapes beginnings\,” says the artist. \nChildhood Light invites viewers to slow down and recognize\, within these quiet and foundational experiences\, the enduring beauty of a beginning. \nGalerie Old Chelsea\, which features local artists\, is located in the beautiful Gatineau Hills above award-winning Les Fougères restaurant situated at 783 route 105\, Chelsea\, Québec\, J9B1P1.
