SUMMARY:The Fourth Annual West End Sculpture Show - Vernissage
DESCRIPTION:The Fourth Annual West End Sculpture Show runs from April 28 through to May 10 at the Kanata Civic Art Gallery (John G. Mlacak Centre\, 2500 Campeau Dr\, Kanata). This is a juried exhibition showcasing contemporary sculpture in stone\, metal\, wood\, and mixed media made by sculptors from across the National Capital Region. Free and open to the public. \nThe public is also invited to meet all of the exhibiting artists at Vernissage on Sunday\, May 3rd (12:30-3:30 pm) \nAbout NCNS: The National Capital Network of Sculptors is a non-profit dedicated to increasing awareness and appreciation for the sculptural arts in the National Capital region. Members include both professional and talented emerging artists.

DESCRIPTION:March 26 to May 5\, 2026 \nOpening: Thursday\, March 26\, 5:30 to 7:30 pm \nBy looking at her role in society as a woman\, wife\, mother\, and artist\, Ada Brzeski has created a series of clay sculptures exploring womanhood\, addressing the everyday realities and frustrations women face. Through these works\, she hopes to foster a deeper understanding among both men and women of these often-overlooked experiences. \nAda Brzeski is a ceramic artist with over twenty years of experience. Largely self‑taught\, she continues to refine her practice through courses and workshops. Drawing inspiration from her Polish heritage\, she works from a shared studio in Ottawa. \nTRINITY ART GALLERY\nShenkman Arts Centre\n245 Centrum Boulevard\, Lower Level\nFree admission. DESCRIPTION:Nature sous tension explore le fragile équilibre entre la beauté du monde naturel et les pressions silencieuses qu’il subit. À travers une série de gravures au burin – sur plexiglass\, imprimées comme des gravures sur bois\, et sur cuivre en intaglio – se dessinent des paysages d’apparence intacte\, mais subtilement altérés. \nDes virus\, des masques\, des déchets s’y glissent discrètement\, signes d’une intrusion humaine insidieuse. Ces éléments\, presque invisibles au premier regard\, rappellent que même la nature la plus préservée reste vulnérable aux blessures infligées par l’activité humaine.
