SUMMARY:AND THEN\, IT’S NOW + Visualizing Urban Transformation Vernissage
DESCRIPTION:Wall Space Gallery is excited to host AND THEN\, IT’S NOW\, a new body of work by oil painter Stewart Jones. The exhibition brings together paintings inspired by the quieter edges of the city and the shifting light and shadows found between buildings and alleyways. Through unexpected viewpoints and confident brushwork\, Jones captures everyday urban moments that often go unnoticed\, making familiar spaces feel fresh\, intimate\, and quietly compelling. \nWall Space Gallery presents Visualizing Urban Transformation\, a new series of paintings by Eryn O’Neill that examines the infrastructure and materials embedded within changing urban environments. Construction fencing\, traffic cones\, barriers\, and industrial containers are easy to overlook\, yet they continually redirect movement and reshape public space.

SUMMARY:Between the Noise by Patti Lefebvre
DESCRIPTION:Patti Lefebvre is an Ottawa-based visual artist at The Rectory Art House and a graduate of the Ottawa School of Art. Her practice includes painting\, printmaking\, and collage\, exploring the evolution of images and meanings in contemporary culture influenced by media\, consumerism\, and fashion. She has exhibited in Ontario and Quebec.  Between the Noise explores how meaning changes in our media-filled world. This series of paintings uses layered collage\, text\, and abstract gestures to show the struggle between clarity and distortion. It encourages viewers to take their time\, look closely\, and find connections within the visual chaos of modern communication. \n

SUMMARY:HELEN MCNICOLL: AN IMPRESSIONIST JOURNEY
DESCRIPTION:Helen McNicoll: An Impressionist Journey invites audiences to rediscover the career of a pioneering Canadian artist\, whose luminous paintings captured everyday life\, nature\, and modern womanhood. \nCelebrated by critics for her mastery of light and the immersive quality of her subjects\, Helen McNicoll (1879–1915) helped elevate the profile of Canadian art on both sides of the Atlantic. She was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1913\, and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts the following year. She died in 1915\, at the age of 35. \nAdapted for the National Gallery of Canada\, Helen McNicoll: An Impressionist Journey highlights the artist’s depictions of work\, harvest\, and markets; her intimate portrayals of children and domestic life; and her vision of women as independent and socially engaged. The exhibition features more than eighty works – including paintings\, sketchbooks\, and rare archival materials – illuminating McNicoll’s complex and modern perspective on art and life.
