Barbara Szatañski

Barbara Szatanski (BaSzia) is an Ottawa-based multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, photography, and jewellery design. Her creative practice is rooted in close observation of the natural world, drawing inspiration from texture, light, and organic form.

Working primarily in ink, watercolour, and mixed media, Barbara creates layered pieces that often combine photography with expressive mark-making. Her artwork explores atmosphere and subtle emotional shifts, inviting viewers to pause and look more closely.

Under her jewellery line, BDaszled Dezsigns, she designs hand-crafted gemstone and copper pieces that echo the rhythms and structures found in nature. Each piece is individually constructed, balancing strength and delicacy.

Through all mediums, Barbara is drawn to transformation — turning light into image, stone into adornment, and everyday moments into lasting expression.
