Elena Nahum Leroy

Artist and Artisan

Like many artists with academic roots, Elena began her artistic journey in 2004 with classical realism—pencil drawing, watercolour, and oil painting. But the more she replicated the world around her, the clearer it became that strict realism wasn’t where her spirit lived. Life wasn’t always beautiful or inspiring, and she felt confined by merely copying it. Seeking freedom, playfulness, and emotional truth, she shifted toward a new path—one filled with imagination and colour.

Today, Elena’s work is a joyful blend of whimsy, creativity, and vibrant hues. Her pieces radiate happiness and playfulness, merging traditional elements with quirky, unexpected twists that create a modern-vintage aesthetic. Her collages burst with positive energy, inviting smiles and drawing viewers into her world during exhibitions and art shows.

Through her art, Elena aims to inspire and evoke emotion, guiding viewers on an enchanting visual journey. Her work is heartfelt, thought-provoking, and grounded in themes that resonate today. It stands as an authentic reflection of her inner world, sparking joy and wonder in those who encounter it.

Elena has exhibited widely across Canada in juried, curated, and paid group and solo shows. Her artworks are held in private collections in Canada, the Czech Republic, France, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA.
