Lucie Murray is originally from Montreal, Quebec, and is currently based in Orléans, Ontario. Her lifelong passion for art has led her to participate in numerous exhibitions in Oakville and the Montreal area. Alongside her artistic practice, she has dedicated 33 years to teaching art, sharing her love for creativity with students. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts Education from the Université du Québec à Montréal and has also worked as a graphic designer for the City of Montreal.
Lucie enjoys working with acrylic paint, as it complements her artistic style. Gradients, contrast, superimposed colours and forms, transparency, and textures are all integral elements of her work. Both her current and past creations have consistently been inspired by nature, which she explores in all its richness. Through her paintings, she expresses the beauty of nature, as well as a sense of serenity and happiness.
Lucie’s artistic uniqueness lies in her use of a spatula, a tool that gives her paintings a perfectly imperfect quality. Art has been an integral part of her life since an early age, shaping both her personal and professional journey. Studying and later teaching art became her true passion—an essential part of who she is.
“My work is deeply rooted in the beauty of nature. I strive to explore and capture the diverse offerings of the natural world, finding serenity and happiness in every stroke of my brush. Through my paintings, I aim to convey the tranquility and joy that nature inspires in me.”
